Volvo’s Cross Country models have always been one of the standard-bearers of the hopped-up wagon of suburban yore. Even though the SUV-crossover-thing has overtaken the style, Volvo’s still plugging away. This is the latest iteration, the Volvo V90 Cross Country.
The 2018 Volvo V90 is shaping up to be the longest and largest wagon for sale in the U.S. market, as well as the most styled flamboyantly.
2018 Volvo V90 Redesign
The car’s been brought up 60 millimeters so that it now has 8.2 inches of ground clearances, comes with an all-new tire that’s softer (supposedly making for a more comfy ride), and the electronic chassis system has been re-programmed to take care of somewhat of soft-roading more easily. It’s also received air-suspension in the trunk, massaging seating, and an eight-speed gearbox, which isn’t bad.
Inside, the V90 appears similar to the S90, at least from the back seats frontward. The great cockpit employs upscale materials and vertical vents called Airblade, and the dash is dominated by Volvo’s progressive and intelligent portrait-oriented 9.0-inch.
2018 Volvo V90 Engine
Under the hood, the V90 stocks the S90’s powertrain. Entry-level T5 models come with front-wheel drive and a 250-hp version of Volvo’s Drive-E 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which makes 258 lb-ft of torque. The T6 employs all-wheel drive and gives a supercharger in order to greatly improve the engine’s low-rpm responsiveness while bumping productivity to 316 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. An Aisin-Warner is employed by both versions eight-speed programmed transmission that allows for full manual control.
2018 Volvo V90 Release Date and Price
Volvo hasn’t yet complete feature content for the 2018 V90 wagon, although we want the same Momentum and Inscription lean levels, as well as standard and optional equipment to parallel that of the S90 sedan strongly.
Expect the 2018 Volvo V90 models to arrive toward the center of 2017, with full details earlier in the year.
It offers all the great things about a sizable crossover while being lower to the ground and much better to drive. There continues to be no word on the costs system of the upcoming model but taking into consideration the other two expect the V90 to begin around $48,000 and go up from there.
